IVBM 2008 a huge success!
The Scientific Programme of the 2008 IVBM held in Sydney (Sydney
Convention and Exhibition Centre, June 1-5) was nothing short of
outstanding, featuring 130 talks couched in 7 Plenary sessions (14
keynote speakers), 17 Workshops (2-3 invited speakers and 2-3
speakers selected from Abstracts), 2 Sponsored Symposia, and
almost 400 Posters spread across 3 Evening Sessions. The Programme also featured three
Memorial Orations honouring true giants in Vascular Biology that have passed away since
the last IVBM, namely Judah Folkman, Tucker Collins and Rudi Busse.
Delegates came to Sydney from over 30 different countries, many visiting for the first time. Delegates numbered over 520, which was on par with the previous IVBM held in Amsterdam.
